How our calendar compares with official statistics

National statistics broadly back the pattern, with one interesting disagreement. The ONS says August was the most popular month in England and Wales in 2023, at 14.3% of marriages, while our GBP weddings peak in June. Our best explanation is the sample: planner-led weddings skew larger and take the early-summer venue slots, while the national figure includes every register-office ceremony. We can’t prove that from our data, but it’s the reading that fits.

Elsewhere the sources agree. The Knot’s study crowns October as America’s favourite month, at 17% of weddings, with 20 September 2025 the single busiest date of the year. Australia registered 120,844 marriages in 2024, clustered in spring and autumn; the busiest day was 24 February, when 1,773 couples married at once. And nothing compresses a calendar like India’s auspicious muhurat windows: the Confederation of All India Traders estimated 4.6 million weddings between 1 November and 14 December 2025 alone.

For a planner, the calendar is a pricing tool. Peak dates deserve peak pricing and early assistant bookings.
